BLOGGER AWARDS MAKE ME GO IN SEARCH OF COFFEE

I’m not much for blogger award thingies (or exclamation marks, but that’s something else entirely).

I mean, I appreciate the awards and all. I’m truly grateful. But I’m usually drowning in writing, client work, and children (let’s not discuss the laundry), so awards go to the bottom of the list. One has to pick and choose how fabulous one can be at any one particular time, particularly if one hasn’t had enough coffee and therefore won’t make any sense to anyone. Least of all to me. (Yea, I don’t know what I just wrote, either.)

However….the fabulous Misty Dobler-Dietz of ChickSwagger.com wrote a terrifically funny post giving me the BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER AWARD and who doesn’t want to be told they’re beautiful on a day when they don’t feel like a hottie and their husband keeps asking annoying questions which have nothing at all to do with sex or chocolate?

Either I’m PMSing or my guy really IS that annoying. 

So a quick thank you to Misty for singling me out. (Full disclosure: she threatened to TP my house if I didn’t respond.) But I’m thanking her not to avoid the TP (which would be icky and my kids would require even more therapy when they’re older since I’m not touching that stuff and I did my share of KP of the TP in high school…thanks, Mom), but because she truly rocks and makes me laugh.

To anyone else who’s given me an award and I haven’t thanked, blame my kids.

 

Sharing seven things about me: 

 

1) I play piano. I took classical lessons for about eight years. Now I play mostly Beatles.

2) I can cook (though I claim not to be able to) if making grilled cheese sandwiches without burning them counts.

3) If my kitchen isn’t clean, I can’t write.

4) If we’ve run out of coffee, I have no motivation to get out of bed.

5) I love promoting authors, bloggers, and teaching social media, I invite people that come into this world and even if they don’t know much about it they can learn from sites as HowToCreateABlog.org which have great resources for this.

6) Though raised Jewish, I don’t practice anything now. I do love Chinese food, though.

7) I take pride in raising good kids. Someone left an anonymous note on my car yesterday at the grocery store, praising my well-mannered children: ‘you should take pride in your parenting skills.’ (Clearly, she doesn’t know about the martinis.)

 

I know I’m supposed to pass this on, but I’m going to think about it while I go in search of coffee. I do have a list on the right >>>> of bloggers I regularly follow. Check them out.

    • Rachel, my media-savvy idol…you are so deserving of this award!
      I can so relate to the clean kitchen, coffee and cooking(hate it but have to do it). But the classical piano? Very impressive…even more if you’ve morphed to the Beatles.. Hand me over the triangle…
      I pray Im raising my boys right…to make good husbands and fathers…its a tough-ass job considering all the crappy influences out there. Gotta keep em’ grounded. I tell them, “Im not here to be your friend…Im here to teach you!”
      You should be thrilled at the note that person left on your car. That’s awesome.

And how bizarre that my post about how I really feel about blog awards (in which you get an anonymous peer mention) is the one they’re going to syndicate on BlogHer in July right after my guest post on your site ;0) LOL!
